Catherine Smith, PA

Catherine Smith is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University Physician Assistant program in Baton Rouge, LA in May of 2020. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. Catherine moved to Houston for high school after growing up in several Midwestern states. She loves Texas and is excited to be working in mental health as she understands how integral it is to our well-being. She also enjoys cooking, especially all of the Cajun and Creole recipes she learned while living in Louisiana and trying all of the amazing unique cuisines that Houston has to offer. Additionally, she loves watching professional sports (and of course the Longhorns) and spending time with her fiancé and dog Mocha.

Faisal Tai, MD
Psychiatrist

Faisal Tai is a psychiatrist who is Board Certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his pre-med at University of Houston, received his Doctor of Medicine from UMHS, and completed his Residency at University of Iowa. During his training, he was also the President of GME House Staff Council at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and introduced many programs to reduce physician burnout. Dr. Tai’s focus has been Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders, Personality disorder, Anxiety and OCD, Neuropsychiatry/Geriatric Psychiatry, Consult-Liaison Psychiatry, and Electroconvulsive Therapy. Dr. Tai currently is Medical Director of Geriatric Psychiatry at HCA Tomball Regional. He grew up in Houston and is glad to have returned to his community. He enjoys running, soccer, volleyball and golf.

Sabrina Daniell is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Walden University with an MSN in Psychiatric-Mental Health NP in May 2020. Prior to earning her masters she worked as an emergency room nurse for 4 years. She has earned BSN in Nursing and a BSN in Psychology with a continued passion for mental health. She was born and raised in Houston, TX, where she currently resides in a small country town on the outskirts of Houston. She enjoys exploring new destinations with her 3 children, husband, and German shepherd Molly!

Cassandra Boduch is a psychiatrist. Her hometown is North Dallas, Texas. She earned her Medical Doctorate (M.D.) from Texas A&M College of Medicine. She completed her pre-med studies at St. Edward’s University in Austin and her psychiatry residency at the University of Texas at Houston. Dr.Boduch focuses on treating trauma, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. She enjoys traveling, learning about new cultures, surfing, sketching, reading, and binge-watching Netflix.

Amanda Ray is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has always been passionate about mental health and caring for others. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2008 with a BS in Human Development and Family Studies and continued on to Stephen F. Austin University where she completed her BSN in 2010. After that, Amanda worked as a staff nurse at Menninger for 9 years. Amanda decided to return to school to get her MSN, and graduated in 2018 with MSN in Psychiatric-Mental Health N.P. from University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Amanda was born and raised in Houston, TX, and currently lives in Conroe, TX. She enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and going for daily walks with her husband and the sweetest rescue pup ever, Reese!

Shamarukh Kabir is a board-certified physician assistant. She grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida. She completed her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavior at Florida Atlantic University and her master’s degree in medical sciences from Barry University in Miami, Florida. Shamarukh works with patients of all ages and treats a variety of psychiatric illnesses, particularly the early diagnosis and management of schizophrenic spectrum illnesses. She enjoys reading and good movies, and spending time with her toddler doing arts and crafts.

Lisa Toran is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She grew up in Houston, Texas. She has an associate’s degree in applied science with a focus in nursing, a bachelor’s degree in science, and a master’s degree in the science of nursing. She has practiced in several specialty areas including psychiatry with dual diagnosis, dialysis and renal care, correctional nursing, trauma, intensive and acute care, occupational health and safety, and school nursing with adolescents. Her clinical interests include addiction, geriatric, and integrative medicine. Her hobbies include live music, traveling, and learning about new practices for health and well-being.

Miranda Taing is a psychiatrist. She grew up in Houston, Texas. Dr. Taing attended Texas A&M University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in science in biology with a minor in psychology. She then attended UTHealth Houston/McGovern Medical School and matched to the UTHealth Houston Psychiatry Program. Her clinical interests include working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are dealing with depression, anxiety, or trauma. In her free time, Miranda likes to run and work out, bake, play with her corgi, and try new Houston restaurants.

Randi Katz is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.  She grew up in Shepherd, Texas. Randi earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Lonestar College Kingwood and graduated from Grand Canyon University, Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in science in nursing. Her desire to help others manage and improve their mental health led her to obtain a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University. As a nurse, she has worked with individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings and believes in a holistic approach to psychiatric care. When she’s not working, Randi enjoys spending time with her two children, reading, drawing, and going to the beach.
